Unit Making a Lound Noise

When using the washing machine on the warm water setting the Unit makes a loud noise like someone is playing a French Horn and Vibrates very loud. I clean the filter and Descaled the unit with NO Help. The Unit is 15 months old and has never done this until recently. Why does it do this ?

It's basically a worthless metal box, doesn't heat water and customer service doesn't return calls or send replacement parts. 2 weeks without hot water. Chat representative told me to call. They only have you leave a message They don't return.

Rinnai - Help with the App
Just wasted 49 mins on the phone waiting for a customer service rep and then the robot said because of high call volume we cannot take your call and disconnected on me! WTF My time is just as valuable as Rinnai's. The app they have is crap and it keeps putting our home system in Vacation mode and I cannot get help to fix it! On the website, it says you can chat but the button they say to hit doesn't exist. *** service and I still have a messed up system.

Combi Boiler Poor Performance

I installed Rinnai M160C combi boiler back in September 2019. Each winter, the boiler turns off giving errors code of filling needed, and dynamic pressure check failed constantly.

The screen display always tells to Reset the boiler that I do all the time. This Rennai boiler system is so unreliable that it turns off in the middle of chilly night and need to reset if that even works.

There is no Rennai customer service that even listen to any customer and provide any guidance. They usually tell the customer to reach out the installer who actually rip you off in all terms. I called the installer who is Rinnai authorized dealer.

The technician did not even know why the unit is behaving like this and changed the pressure sensor and circulator pump which is just 4 years old and charged $2000. This amount is almost the price of new boiler and the fault still persist, but there is nobody in Rinnai to listen and help.

So, please be aware of buying this garbage item and save your hard earned money!!!

I bought a water heater from you bc its supposed to be one of the most energy efficient ones out there. At 63 watts it is until the freeze protection kicks on and it draws 300 watts.

Its in my basement which is always 62. Im on solar so its a big deal to me at night.
I called to ask two things.

Assuming its use is related to outside air temp via the ventat what temp does it turn freeze protection on? And 2, how do I disable it?
Your phone person would not let me talk to a tech and was very unhelpful which reflects very poorly on your business or chance of me or anyone I know ever doing business with you again

I'm a rinnai tech the freeze protection is to keep the heat exchanger from freezing when out side air is 37degrees the computer will turn on the small heaters my number is 904-477-**** if I can help you

Terrible technical support

Called 4 times to speak with a technical support agent on a 2 year old rinnai. Went through error codes and all possible error code solutions. Nothing has been apparent to why error code 12 is occurring. Customer service is terrible, did not provide a way to leave a review or help with situation. Would never recommend a rinnai install after this experience.

I purchased a Rinnai tankless water heater six years ago, and I couldn't be more disappointed with the product and customer support. Poor warranty response

Company did everything it could to avoid honoring a 5 year warranty on a 4 year old unit. Took 6 weeks after failure to declare the unit a loss. Going on 12 weeks after declared that was a warranty issue. Am still awaiting re-imbursement

The lady who first picked up the phone and gathered info for the tech to call back. She was laughing at my accent I believe! If you hate your work. You should leave and should not be in customer service. The tech was not much better complaining that he had to call back 27 clients who were waiting for support. He was not helpful at all.

Can’t find anyone qualified to fix my Rinnai furnace

I got talked into purchasing 30 Rinnai wall heater units for my studio apartments in Toronto and now I cannot find anyone to service them. Every call is dead end. If youre considering buying any kind of RinnaiI would stay away from them.

It sucks

Turn it on shows that it is inuse and enable have hot water for a little bit turns cold and the have to reset it to come on .will never have one again. Have had it for almost 3 years it has not worked right since installed.

We bought a Rinnai Ru160 tankless water heater in Dec 2020 and it was a temperamental piece of crap. They tell you when you speak to customer service any license professional can fix your unit well we called one because no Rinnai certified guy is near us so the guy we got ruined won't warranty now.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with product or service ordered. They sent the broken part and issue has been resolved after few days struggle.

Issue has not been resolved yet. We requested to ship replacement part but request has been cancelled without out any communication.

Rinnai water heater system installed in March 2019, its just over 4.5 years, its leaking and lot of rust inside.

Not happy with product and support. We dont know what to do now!!

I have a 2-month-old RU-199IN tankless water heater that the PC board went out. (Code 61). An authorized dealer came out to repair it and after determining it to be the PC board; he ordered it. The warehouse is in Sacramento, I am in Las Vegas. Instead of shipping overnight, they ship ground. I am now on day three of no hot water to shower or wash up. Parts should be better made to not fail after two months, and the replacements should be sent overnight so people do not wait more than a day without hot water.
